Can Arc Ultra be wall-mounted?
Yes. We recommend using the Sonos Arc Ultra Wall Mount (sold separately).
Will Arc Ultra work with the Sonos Arc Wall Mount?
The Sonos Arc Wall Mount will work with Arc Ultra, but, given the different dimensions of the products, the mount may be visible from certain angles. For this reason, we recommend using the Sonos Arc Ultra Wall Mount.
Which Sonos speakers work as surrounds with Arc Ultra?
A matching pair of the following speakers will work as surrounds: Era 300, Era 100, Sonos One (including SL), Sonos Five, and SYMFONISK (Gen 2) speakers. You can also use Amp to power in-wall, in-ceiling or other passive speakers as surrounds.
Which generations of Sub are compatible with Arc Ultra?
All generations of Sub and Sub Mini are compatible with Arc Ultra. A dual Sub setup requires Sub 4 and/or Sub (Gen 3).
What is HDMI eARC?
eARC stands for enhanced Audio Return Channel. This type of connection allows full-resolution sound signals, including Dolby Atmos, to be passed from your TV to the soundbar.
Do I need a TV that supports HDMI eARC?
Arc Ultra can connect to TVs with HDMI eARC, HDMI ARC, or optical outputs. However, HDMI eARC is recommended. Optical requires the Sonos Optical Audio Adapter (sold separately). If you connect to a TV with HDMI eARC, the Dolby audio formats supported include Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, MAT, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital. If you connect to a TV using HDMI ARC, the Dolby audio formats supported are dependent on your TV model and manufacturer. The TV may be capable of sending Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital. An HDMI ARC connection cannot support TrueHD or MAT. If you connect to a TV using the optical audio adapter, the Dolby audio formats supported are dependent on your TV model and manufacturer. The TV may be capable of sending Dolby Digital. An optical connection cannot support Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, MAT, or Dolby Digital Plus.
How do I know if I'm getting Dolby Atmos?
Dolby Atmos is dependent on the source material as well as the TV passing an Atmos signal through the HDMI port. If the soundbar is receiving an Atmos signal, this will be displayed on the Now Playing screen and Settings menu in the Sonos app. For more information, refer to faq.sonos.com/sonos-arc-ultra/atmos.
Do I need surrounds and a subwoofer for Dolby Atmos?
Arc Ultra supports Dolby Atmos as a standalone soundbar. Adding a subwoofer and surrounds will provide an even more immersive Dolby Atmos experience.
How does the Dolby Atmos experience differ between Beam (Gen 2) and Arc Ultra?
The technology in Beam (Gen 2) renders two additional audio channels and uses psychoacoustic HRTF technology to give the impression of height channels, simulating a 5.0.2 experience. Arc Ultra features two upward-firing speakers that physically project audio towards the ceiling for a true height channel experience. Arc Ultra renders a 9.1.4 Atmos signal.
Does Arc Ultra support Dolby Atmos Music?
You can stream Dolby Atmos Music from Amazon Music and Apple Music. For more information, refer to faq.sonos.com/sonos-arc-ultra/atmos.
Which voice assistants does Arc Ultra support?
You can use Sonos Voice Control and Amazon Alexa. While streaming with Apple AirPlay 2, you can use Siri on your iOS device to control Apple Music.
Can I control my TV with my voice?
If your TV supports CEC (TVs with HDMI will support CEC) and you have set up a voice assistant, you can control the TV with your voice.
Does Arc Ultra work with Apple TV 4K?
Arc Ultra will support Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Atmos content with an Apple TV 4K. For Dolby Atmos content, Apple TV 4K uses a high-bandwidth format known as MAT and requires an eARC-capable TV. Some Dolby-certified TVs can convert Apple TV 4K Atmos content to an ARC-compatible format. Check with your TV manufacturer for compatibility. Visit Sonos Support for more information.
Can I use the Sonos S1 Controller with Arc Ultra?
No. Arc Ultra requires the latest generation of the Sonos app.
