DESIGN

The Stellar S300 stereo power amplifier is a dual mono power amplifier capable of effortlessly driving demanding loudspeaker loads to concert levels. It combines the best of two worlds: ultra linear, high-current, Class D technology for the output stage; a discrete, Class A MOSFET based Analog Cell for the all-important input stage. The S300's rich, warm, and engaging sonic character comes from the Analog Cell. It's powerful, authoritative control over the loudspeaker stems from its high current, ultra-low impedance Class D output stage.

APPLICATION

The perfect choice for just about any loudspeaker, the S300 slips into any system, surprising and delighting even the most discriminating Audiophile. Rated at 140 watts per channel into 8‎Ω and 300 watts per channel into 4‎Ω, the S300 has plenty of horsepower for even the most demanding loudspeakers. "If you can’t get excited over an amp like the S300, you might reconsider your own high-end bona fides. Based on a Class D ICE module, the dual-mono amp is rated at 140Wpc into 8 ohms. That number seems conservative because it kicks like a 200-watter. The sleek low-profile design is matched by first-rate construction quality.

Sonically, the era of apologizing for Class D under-performance is over. Music simply snapped into view, in full harmonic bloom. Most vivid were dynamic contrasts from the micro level to the macro. The S300 was both fast and explosive off the mark, while timbral information, its ability to define the character and personality of each musical element, was in full-color display. We have heard vast improvements of Class D amplifiers during the last 10 years, and we are at or near the point where the technology is largely irrelevant to the final sound.
